Police cordon off Portsmouth street over '˜suspicious package'
POLICE closed off a street because of a suspected suspicious package.
Officers were called to Burnaby Road in Portsea at around 5.30pm on Wednesday after a member of the public noticed a stray bag in the street.
The street was cordoned off to the public by the police while the officers inspected the bag, which was revealed to be empty.
Following the discovery, the road reopened at 6.20pm.
