Police on the hunt after attempted bicycle robbery

Have your say

A CORDON was put up at a Southsea beach after an ‘item’ was found by a dog walker.

Hampshire Constabulary received a call from a passerby close to the pitch and putt golf course in Eastern Parade at 8.30am on Friday.

A spokesman for the force said: ‘A cordon was put in place for a short time and the item was recovered. Officers are now carrying out enquiries.’

The item has been removed from the area. Police would not say what the item was.

Adam Parsons, manager at nearby Coffee Cup, said staff had seen ‘a lot of police’ in the area but did not know what had been found.
