E-MAIL addresses of the public and officers were stolen when a police force’s website was hacked.

An investigation is under way at Sussex Police and 270 members of the public have been contacted and given security advice in relation to passwords to the community messaging service.

Amaraghosha Carter, head of IT, said the activity had not affected any other force and there was no problems with any operational response.
