Jason Gates, 36, travelled to the Scottish Highlands for a walking holiday with his dog Max earlier this month.

Max, a brown and white spaniel, was found along with a number of items of Mr Gates’ clothing and his car in the Drumnadrochit area, sparking a major land and sea search.

The accountant was reported missing on March 17.

Police Scotland have now renewed their appeal to speak to anyone who may have seen him in the area.

In a statement the force said officers are keeping his family updated, and thanked the public for their support so far.

Mr Gates is 6ft 3in, slim, with short cropped greying hair and stubble.

It is not known what clothes he is wearing but he often wears black jeans, a T shirt, a black padded jacket and tweed jacket, and possibly walking boots. He may also be in possession of a rucksack.
