Murder squad detectives have been granted more time to question a man in connection with the death of Christopher Butler.

Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Investigation Team now have until 1am on Thursday to continue questioning a 32-year-old man over the killing.

The body of Mr Butler, 27, was found at an address in Waverley Road, Southsea on New Year’s Day.

A 23-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man who were also arrested on suspicion of murder were bailed until February 17.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Operation Turtle investigation team in confidence on 101.
