A THIEF leapt over the counter of a betting shop and made off with £300.

Hampshire Constabulary has released this e-fit image of a man they believe is connected to the theft.

Police say a man, who had been playing a gaming machine at BetFred bookmakers at The Hard, Portsea, complained to a member of staff that he had lost money.

The staff member said the man then jumped over the counter and took £300 before running through the rear fire exit.

The offender is described as black, aged early to mid-20s, around 6ft tall, of slim build, with short hair and facial hair, brown eyes, had a flat nose with wide nostrils and was wearing a baggy grey tracksuit and a black baseball cap.

He also spoke in slang.

The theft happened at 7pm on Thursday, April 30, but police have only released details today.
