AN 81-year-old man was attacked on his own doorstep in Havant.

It’s believed that the pensioner was assaulted by two men who had called at the front door of his bungalow, in Scratchface Lane.

Cash was then stolen from inside the elderly man’s home. He suffered minor injuries and is in a state of shock following the incident, which happened at 6.40pm on Wednesday.

The man was not taken to hospital. Police have since guarded the bungalow whilst a forensic examination takes place. A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘There is no specific information to suggest that there is a wider threat to other people’s homes in the community.’

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
