Police hunt Mini driver who knocked over pedestrian in Portsmouth

Police are looking for the driver of a Mini which hit a pedestrian in Portsmouth.

A 54-year-old woman was crossing Turner Road between 3.55pm and 4.10pm on Wednesday when she was hit by the silver vehicle.

The driver stopped briefly at the scene but left without giving any details.

The car has been described as a silver Mini with a black roof, and a registration number starting HK55.

After the collision the car drove east along Turner Road before travelling along Lake Road towards Kingston Road.

The driver had short hair and was wearing a shirt.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to the QA Hospital for treatment.

PC Rob Lewis, from Havant Roads Policing Unit, said: ‘We are investigating the full circumstances of this collision, and are keen to speak to the driver involved to establish exactly what has happened.

‘The driver did initially stop the car at the scene, but drove off soon after. We are appealing for this driver to come forward and talk to us.

‘Perhaps you know who this person is? If you have any information to assist our enquiries, and to help identify the person driving the Mini, then please give us a call.’
