Police hunt for suspicious men seen outside Hampshire Army base

Police are hunting two men said to have been acting suspicously outside an Army base in Hampshire today.

Reports said the incident was smiliar to an attempted abduction of an airman near RAF Marham in Norfolk last month, but Hampshire Police stressed that no contact was made between the men and a civilian garrison worker who reported them.

A spokesman said: ‘We were called to a suspicious incident at 8.42am today at the junction between Queens Avenue and Hospital Hill, Aldershot.

Two men were seen acting suspiciously in a blue Renault Clio.

At this stage there is nothing to suggest that a crime has been committed but we are looking into why the two men had stopped the car on this stretch of road.

No contact was made between the two men and the person reporting the incident, who is a civilian member of staff who works within the military complex at Aldershot.

Anyone who may have seen a blue Renault Clio with two men inside in the area this morning is asked to contact us on 101, quoting 44160289416.
