Malicious letters detailing allegations against man being sent to homes in Portsmouth

POLICE have released an e-fit image of a woman accused of stealing several purses and handbags in the last month.

The woman, who is in her 40s, is believed to have repeatedly stolen the items from people in Havant Shopping Centre in May.

It is estimated that hundreds of pounds was stolen in cash and from bank cards contained in the purses and handbags.

The offender is white, 5ft 4in, and of slim to medium build.

She has dark hair parted in the middle, which is swept back.

She also has a broad face and a thinnish nose.

As part of their investigation into the thefts police are also warning people not to keep their valuables on display when they are out shopping.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Havant police station by phoning 101.
