HAMPSHIRE police have been carrying out training sessions to prepare for VIP visits.

Police vehicles were spotted leaving junction 11 of the M27 near to Fareham yesterday afternoon, speeding off towards Boarhunt.

But police have assured the public that it was all part of their regular vehicle manoeuvre training which is happening in the area all week.

The training takes place in preparation for VIPs visiting the area.

Police must rehearse transporting vehicles in convoy from one location to another.

These sorts of exercises might take place when a member of the royal family or a key military figure visits the area.

The training took place along the M27 from Portsmouth to Southampton and again along the M3.
