POLICE have been called tonight to deal with an incident at a block of flats near a military base in Portsmouth.

Eight police vehicles were seen dealing with a situation in St James’s Street, Portsea, near HMS Nelson.

Police have confirmed they dealt with an incident, but would not release any details.

Eye-witnesses say officers were ‘keeping some people apart’ and restricting access to flats, while residents watched from their windows.
