POLICE are investigating an allegation of an attempted robbery in Portsmouth.

It’s reported a 21-year-old man was attacked in the area of Kilmiston Close near to the junction with Hanway Road and Kingston Road between 7.30pm and 7.50pm on Christmas Day.

He received a suspected stab wound to one of his shoulders.

Police say the exact circumstances surrounding this incident are unclear. After the incident, the victim, who was bare-chested, walked north along Kingston Road.

There were other members of the public in Kingston Road around the same time. He was helped by a man in a blue shirt.

Officers would like to trace this person, and a group of three other men. Call 101.
