Police issue appeal after man robbed and assaulted in Fratton

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed and assaulted by three men in Fratton on Friday night.

A 41-year-old male victim was punched and kicked by three other men in Shearer Road sometime between 7.15pm and 8pm.

He received a fractured cheek bone and a cut to his hand which needed hospital treatment.

A mobile phone and £40 was also taken from the man.

Detective Constable Shawn Lewry of Fratton CID said: ‘Were you in the Shearer Road area between 7pm and 8pm on Friday night? Did you see what happened?

‘I would also like the people who came out of The Shearer Arms and the Shearer Road shop to help the injured man to come forward.

‘They may hold vital information about what happened.’
