TWO arrests have been made following a spate of burglaries in Portsmouth.

A 45-year-old man and a 15-year old boy have been bailed pending further enquiries until May 21.

It comes after neighbours raised fears about a rise in crime around Baffins Pond and said police were not doing enough to tackle the situation.

Neighbours living in Cedar Grove, Baffins, said youngsters had repeatedly tried breaking into their garages late at night.

One resident, who did not wish to be named, said there had been a spate of incidents and thieves had tried getting into her garage.

Another resident reported champagne had been taken from a property.

Hampshire Constabulary says it has kept residents up-to-date over what is happening via leaflets, Facebook, Twitter and Hampshire Alerts.

Cosham driver Gary Badnell recently revealed Hampshire Constabulary refused to investigate a hitand-run accident that left his car a write-off.

The 33-year-old had done his own detective work, locating four CCTV cameras and giving officers an exact time of when the incident happened outside his home.
