DETECTIVES have named an 81-year-old woman who was found dead in her home this weekend.

Annie Beaver was discovered dead in a house in Sherfield Avenue, Leigh Park, on Saturday morning.

As previously reported, police were called just after 6am and an 80-year-old was arrested at the house on suspicion of murder. A 55-year-old man from Havant was arrested elsewhere in the town later in the day.

Mrs Beaver was pronounced dead at the scene.

She has been formally identified by next-of-kin today. A Home Office post-mortem examination took place yesterday. However, police say they are not going to reveal the cause of death yet due to ongoing enquiries.

Police have until 7pm today to question the men, although they could apply for an extension to that time.
