THIS man is wanted by police in connection with a racist attack.

The 24-year-old Turkish victim, from Gosport, was filling his car with petrol at the BP garage in Forton Road, Gosport, when he was set upon by a gang of men.

They hurled racist abuse at him before attacking him.

The victim was punched in the face during the assault, which happened at 1.20am on May 28. He then ran off with a swollen upper lip.

Police later arrested an 18-year-old Southsea man and a 25-year-old man from Gosport.

They were released on bail pending further enquiries.

But they are still trying to trace the man pictured in the CCTV image.

PC Daniel Morgan said: ‘I am investigating this unprovoked attack on a young Turkish man by a group of men who made racist remarks towards him before they attacked.’

The suspect was a white man, aged in his late 30s to early 40s who was stocky.

He wore a grey and white hooded top.
