Police seized £45,000 in drugs during cannabis factory raid in Gosport

POLICE have revealed the value of a drug operation raided in Gosport.

Tip-offs from members of the public led to more than seven police officers raiding a property in Sydney Road on Saturday, September 19.

The raid seized more than £45,000 in cannabis.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of producing a class B drug and a potential victim of modern slavery was supported by police.

The boy has since been released and remains under investigation.

In a statement, the force said: ‘We can now update you that 341 plants were seized, with a potential value in excess of £45,000.

‘Amazing work by Gosport NPT officers and our CID colleagues.

‘A real team effort. We promise it won't be our last either.’

Neighbours expressed their ‘shock and surprise’ that a major drugs operation was being carried out in their residential street.
