A MAN was arrested after police seized £3,300 worth of cannabis from a home following a routine patrol.

Police community support officers Robin Richardson and Lucy Nevill smelled what they thought was the class B drug when they passed a property at Tupman House in Wingfield Street, Buckland.

They raised the alarm and the property was searched on Sunday.

Sergeant Stuart Snow, who is in charge of Kingston Safer Neighbourhoods Team, and PC Alex Jones, found 15 full-sized cannabis plants and growing equipment in a first-floor bedroom.

The drugs and paraphernalia were seized.

Dean Durham, 43, of Wingfield Street, Buckland, has been charged with possession and cultivation of the class B drug.

He was bailed to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on February 14.
