POLICE today continued their search for missing schoolgirl Elizabeth McKeon.

The 15-year-old, know as Beth, was last seen outside her school, Portsmouth Academy for Girls, in St Mary’s Road, Fratton, on Wednesday afternoon just before 3pm.

Police this morning have said there is no update despite appeals including posts on Facebook and Twitter.

They believe the teenager may still be in Portsmouth but are urging the public to be on the lookout at train and bus stations as well.

Beth is a year 10 student at Portsmouth Academy for Girls.

Inspector Rich Thompson said in a statement: ‘We are concerned for Elizabeth’s welfare and are carrying out extensive enquiries to try and trace her and would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have seen her or knows where she is.

‘We believe she may still be in Portsmouth but she could be looking to travel outside the city and therefore we’d ask people to keep an eye out around train stations and bus stations.

Elizabeth is 5ft tall, slim, with short blonde hair.

Police have said that she usually wears earrings known as ‘stretchers’ which stretch the ear lobes, in both of her ears.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Insp Thompson at Fratton police station on 101.
