OFFICERS from Portsmouth’s Kingston Safer Neighbourhoods team are holding a street briefing to get to know residents and talk about what matters to them.

The street briefing takes place in the yard in St Mary’s Church, Fratton Road, from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, May 4.

Residents and business owners will be updated on how the force has been dealing with anti-social behaviour in the area.

Sergeant Stuart Snow, of the Kingston Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: ‘The churchyard consists of a walking area, proving popular to dog walkers and joggers.

‘Unfortunately as the weather has improved, this area has attracted a number of individuals who are using the area to drink in public and intimidate those living and using the churchyard.

‘We have been taking swift actions against this issue, and would like to let people know what we’ve done to tackle the situation.’

Officers will also be offering to security-mark bicycles for free.
