Police to make use of photo-sharing website

Have your say

A NEW initiative is being launched to help reunite recovered stolen items with rightful owners.

Hampshire Constabulary has joined the photo-sharing site Flickr in the new project Is This Yours?

The site will be used solely by the force to show pictures of stolen property that officers have recovered and are trying to return to the owners.

But only highly-identifiable property will be posted on the page and some information will be withheld so that it can be used to prove someone is the real owner.

The force already uses social media sites Twitter and Facebook and will link their Flickr account to the two sites.
