Have your say

POLICE investigating an indecent assault on a woman in Portsmouth have released CCTV of a man they would like to speak to.

The 19-year-old victim was walking along Lake Road towards Fratton at about 10pm on Wednesday, March 9, when she realised a man was following her.

As reported in The News, he spoke to the victim before grabbing her and indecently assaulting her.

The woman managed to get away but her attacker followed her across Holbrook Road and around the roundabout at the junction with Lake Road.

Police say the victim shouted for help and alerted two members of the public who ran over causing the attacker to run off.

Officers have now released this CCTV image of a man they want to trace.

Det Con Jim Garrett said: ‘We’re now in a position to release a CCTV image of a man who we believed may be able to help us with our inquiries. I’d also still like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time.’

Call police on 101.
