BUSINESSES are urged to be alert after tools worth more than £45,000 were stolen in two burglaries.

Trailer based wood chippers and a number of chain saws were stolen after thieves broke into commercial premises in Greenaway Lane in Warsash and Funtley Lane in Titchfield, after 5.30pm on Tuesday.

PC Jim Heath said: ‘I would ask anyone who has been offered this type of equipment for sale, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in those areas to contact Fareham Police Station on 101 quoting 44140406778 / 44140406980.’
