Portchester hit by a spate of vehicle break-ins with thieves taking food, alcohol, and bank cards

THIEVES have targeted parked cars in Portchester, with police urging residents to be cautious.

Police have received three reports of vehicle break-ins in northern Portchester during the early hours of last Wednesday.

Two cars were targeted in Caer Peris View, alongside a vehicle break-in in Hill Road.

Thieves did not appear to take anything from the car in Hill Road, but sunglasses, food, alcohol, and a bank card were taken from the vehicles in Caer Peris View, according to a Hampshire Constabulary spokesman.

He added: ‘One of the cars on Caer Peris View was reported to have been left unlocked, but it is not clear how access was gained to the other two vehicles.’
