A DRINK-DRIVER who was caught behind the wheel while three times the legal alcohol limit has been jailed.
Christopher Hough, from Northern Parade, Hilsea, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to committing the offence after drinking too much alcohol and then driving a car in London Road, North End, Portsmouth.
A test revealed Hough’s breath contained 126mcg of alcohol per 100ml.
The reading is three times the legal alcohol limit for motorists of 35mcg.
Hough pleaded guilty to committing the offence while he was subject to a six-week suspended sentence imposed by the courts for a charge of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.
The 33-year-old was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison.
He was banned from driving for three years at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
