MOTORIST Stuart Warner was caught driving while almost twice the legal alcohol limit.

The 28-year-old, from Dartmouth Road, Copnor, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Transporter in White Hart Lane, Fareham, after drinking too much on July 17.

A test revealed his breath contained 64 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Warner was fined £400 and told to pay £85 in court costs and £15 into a fund for crime victims by Fareham magistrates.

He was also banned from driving for 20 months. However the ban could be reduced if he pays to complete a government-approved driving course.
