A MAN caught drink-driving after moving his car 50 yards has been spared a ban.

Ross MacPherson, 19, of Corby Crescent, Anchorage Park, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to driving a Toyota Yaris in nearby Sywell Crescent, after drinking too much.

His breath contained 81 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres – more than twice the 35mg legal limit

Portsmouth magistrates decided not to impose a driving ban as he only drove 50 yards.

He was told to pay £315 in a fine and costs.
