Drink-driver jailed for killing man riding pony and trap

MAGISTRATES have banned a woman from the roads after she was caught drink-driving near her home.

Vivienne Shea was stopped by the police as she drove a Mazda MX5 in Froddington Road, Somers Town, Portsmouth.

A breathalyser test revealed she had 48mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

The 61-year-old, of Froddington Road, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when she appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court. She was disqualified from driving for a year and fined £600 with a £100 costs.
