A DRINK-DRIVER who was more than twice the legal limit has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Anderson Anjos was pulled over by the police as he drove in Marmion Avenue, Southsea, in May.

A roadside breathalyser test revealed he had 85 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit in breath is 35 microgrammes.

Anjos, of Moorland Road, Kingston, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

District Judge Anthony Calloway fined the 36-year-old £500 with £100 in costs.

The ban will be reduced by four months if he pays £250 to take part in a government run drink-driving course.
