DRINKER Vasile Tudose has been fined for assaulting a police officer.

Tudose, 24, of Kingston Road, Buckland, Portsmouth, admitted assaulting PC James Mullen at Portsmouth Central police station in Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth, on March 1.

He admitted a charge of being drunk and disorderly in the city on the same day and pleaded guilty to committing the offences while subject to a conditional discharge.

Tudose was fined £125 and told to pay £50 costs and £15 to a fund for crime victims by Portsmouth magistrates.

He was told not to leave the court until the session ended.
