COFFEE thief Simon Buckingham has been given a conditional discharge.

The 33-year-old, of Lynn Road, Buckland, Portsmouth, admitted stealing two jars of Nescafe Gold Blend worth £8 from a Co-op store in Fratton Road, Fratton, on January 3.

He also admitted failing to answer bail on June 3.

Buckingham was given a six-month conditional discharge by Portsmouth magistrates.

He must also pay £80 compensation to the Co-op and £70 in court costs.
