MAGISTRATES have fined a man for possessing cannabis.

Josh Lyons, 20, of Eastern Road, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to having the class B drug on him in London Road, North End, Portsmouth.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of damaging a mobile phone in the same street.

Lyons was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Portsmouth magistrates.

He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £100 costs.

The drugs are to be destroyed.
