MEAT thief Darren Elston has been told to pay compensation.

The 40-year-old, of Locksway Road, Milton, admitted stealing chicken and mince from the Co-op in Fratton Road, Fratton, on August 4.

He also pleaded to stealing two Gucci Rush perfumes worth £68 from Boots in Commercial Road, Landport, Portsmouth, on September 24. Elston was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £32.61 compensation by Portsmouth magistrates.
