MEAT thief Jamie Nicholds has been jailed.

The 35-year-old, of Shadwell Road, North End, admitted stealing meat worth more than £76 from Aldi in West Street, Fareham.

He pleaded guilty to stealing joints of beef worth £107 from the same shop in a separate theft and beef worth more than £58 from a Fareham Co-op.

Nicholds admitted stealing bacon and cheese worth £83 from Iceland in Palmerston Road, Southsea.

The crimes were committed between June 6 and September 11.

Nicholds admitted committing the offences while subject to a suspended sentence for two other thefts.

He was jailed for 154 days by Portsmouth magistrates.
