Portsmouth murder probe: MP says death is '˜of significant concern'
A PORTSMOUTH MP has said the death of an 18-year-old in the city yesterday is '˜of significant concern'.
Stephen Morgan, who represents Portsmouth South, tweeted about the death of the teenager.
The 18-year-old is thought to have been assaulted in Fratton at some stage on Friday night or Saturday morning.
At 2.20am paramedics called police to a home in Sackville Street, Southsea, where they were treating the injured teenager. He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital but died later.
Labour MP Mr Morgan urged anyone who knows about the incident to contact police and added: ‘My heartfelt condolences to the family of the 18-year-old who has lost his life.’
Two men from Portsmouth, aged 28 and 32, were arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of murder and are in custody.
Anyone with information about the incident can call police on 101, quoting Operation Lighter.
