Police responded to a man who told officers to ‘get a proper job’ by posting a picture of him on the internet.

The man, wearing a distinctive red coat, was photographed as he walked away in Albert Road.

Police posted the picture to their Twitter account @PompeyPolice with the message: ‘Bloke in the red coat just told one of our officers to “Get a proper job” #truepicture #JobLikeNoOther’
