GUILDHALL Walk has been revealed as having been one of the country’s most violent street during December.
Thirty-eight offences were reported in the city centre road in the last month of last year, according to a new crime map made available by the Home Office.
The police.uk website allows the public to search for crime and anti-social behaviour reported last month for their street or postcode.
Assistant Chief Constable Laura Nicholson, from Hampshire Police, said: ‘We have always known the night-time economy issues and nature of Portsmouth we’ve always had continual challenges.
‘But we are happy to be held accountable and want people to tell us what the problems are so we can continue to try and reduce incidents.’
The crime map has been launched by the government to allow people to see the extent of crime on their street, and Glovers Court in Preston has the highest number of overall incidents with 44.
Figures are broken down between burglary, anti-social behaviour, robbery, vehicle crime, violent crime and other offences.
