Portsmouth sailor acquitted of voyeurism charge after recording steamy shower romp

Leading Logistician Scott Furber, 29, had sex with the woman sailor after a day of drinking with colleagues on a beach near their docked destroyer, HMS Diamond.

Furber told the courtthe pair had been flirting in the weeks leading up to having sex, which is forbidden on a warship, and they then planned to film it on his iPhone.

Furber, who worked as a chef on the Portsmouth-based ship, said that while enjoying the sun at the beach in Limassol, Cyprus, with colleagues, they drank cocktails, beer, cider and spirits.

The father-of-three, who was expecting a child with his pregnant fiancée at the time, said he and the female trainee split from the group to be alone together.

Furber said he and the woman, who had only joined HMS Diamond three weeks earlier and cannot be identified for legal reasons, were in their swimming costumes applying sun lotion to each other and talking sexually.

He said they had talked about having sex and when he suggested they film it, she agreed.

The chef said they agreed to film it because it would make it ‘spicy’ and add ‘flavour’ to it.

He said it wasn’t his plan to record it for later sexual gratification, but a decision made just to make the experience more ‘exciting’.

The pair returned to the type-45 destroyer and Furber entered the shower before setting up the camera. As he was waiting for her to arrive, he filmed himself grinning into the iPhone.

Furber denied one count of voyeurism relating to the filming on June 9 2014 and was acquitted by the panel.

He told the court martial at Portsmouth: ‘We went down there and were having all sorts of drinks and playing games. We had cocktails, beers, ciders and spirits. We were all on our way to being drunk.

‘Me and her went off away from the group. We were talking to each other sexually, talking about what we would like to do to each other. We talked about going on to the ship and having sex.

‘At the time I mentioned making a video of the sex to spice it up and add more flavour to the experience. I was feeling more adventurous and thought it would make it more exciting.

‘We agreed to do it, she verbally said that she wanted to do it so she consented to it. She said that I had consent to film it.

‘We said that I would go in first and set it up and wait for her.’
