A SERIAL thief was caught stealing days after his release from jail.

Andrew Bishop admitted stealing meat and groceries worth £69.59 from the Co-op in Elm Grove, Southsea, on September 3 while on licence – and was sent straight back inside.

The 38-year-old, of Kingston road, North End, Portsmouth, admitted committing the crime before he had finished serving a 12-month jail term imposed for 11 counts of theft.

Bishop was sentenced to 28 days in jail by Portsmouth magistrates.
