A WOMAN has denied a charge of attempted murder.

Karen Hanley appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday charged with attempting to murder a woman.

Dressed in a thin grey jumper Hanley, of Eastern Road, Portsmouth, spoke only to plead not guilty to the charge and continued staring straight ahead silently through the rest of the brief hearing.

The 36-year-old is accused of trying to murder the woman between January 1 and 4 this year. She was remanded in custody and is due for trial this summer.
