Portsmouth woman must stay put after Malta theft

Have your say

A PORTSMOUTH woman accused of stealing a suitcase at an airport in Malta will have to wait until later this month for her case to be considered.

Shannon-Leigh Williams, 19, denies the charge of theft, claiming it was all ‘a mistake’.

She was spotted by a couple who recognised a handbag she was carrying and trainers she was wearing as theirs. Ms Williams claimed she went to the airport to collect luggage that didn’t arrive when she flew over on a Ryanair flight in May and said the suitcase looked similar to her own.

Ms Williams has made another brief appearance in court since proceedings began, but a judge postponed further appearances until later in July.
