Post mortems due on elderly couple found deads in Isle of Wight house

Post mortem examinations are due to be carried out on an elderly man and a woman whose bodies were found at a property on the Isle of Wight.

Hampshire Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of the 77-year-old man and the 83-year-old woman in Shanklin.

A force spokesman said: “Detectives have launched an investigation following the death of two people in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.

“Officers were called to an address in Albert Road at 7.10am on Monday June 20.

“On arrival officers found the body of a 77-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman.

“At this stage police are treating this as an isolated incident and we would like to reassure the community that there is no wider risk.

“Investigations will continue at the scene as officers work on behalf of the coroner to establish the exact circumstances of the deaths but detectives can confirm that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
