MEMBERS of the public who helped two stabbed teenagers have been praised by police.

It comes as the boys, 12 and 13, were attacked in Southleigh Road, Havant on June 26.

Homeless Richard Walsh, 43, had been due to stand trial accused of two counts of attempted murder but was found dead in HMP Belmarsh.

A police spokesman said: ‘Officers would like to recognise the valuable contribution made by members of the public who assisted the children.’

He added: ‘Their contribution ensured that other people were not seriously injured.’
