A PROBATION officer has lost out in a national award.
Rob Marsh, of Hampshire Community and Rehabilitation Company, was nominated in the innovation category.
But on Wednesday he lost out to Rachael Smith from Staffordshire and West Midlands.
Mr Marsh was nominated after setting up Portsmouth Voice for people who were on probation but kept reoffending.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight CRC chief executive Mary D’Arcy said: ‘Rob has driven the development of the Portsmouth Voice service user group out of which a new service user-led support group Open Door has developed.
‘Without his enthusiasm and passion neither would have been achieved.
‘Rob generated real support from front-line staff to make this work and is a trail-blazer.’
