DETECTIVES are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Gosport.

Police were called to reports of a fight in a car park at the back of Oliver Court, in Spring Garden Lane.

A 51-year-old man was left with several facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

It happened at about 1.50am on Saturday.

Any witnesses have been urged to come forward.

Detective Constable Sarah Ridler, of Fareham and Gosport CID, said: ‘Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything in the Spring Garden Lane area between 1.30am and 1.50am on Saturday.

‘Did you witness an assault? Do you know who could be responsible?’
