FOUR people were arrested in connection with the theft of several bicycles.

Police officers patrolling Chidham, near Emsworth, arrested two 18-year-old men and two 17-year-old boys in possession of five cycles suspected to have been stolen from the Chichester area.

The force has now recovered five bikes and is hoping to re-unite them with their owners.

One owner has already come forward and reported that his silver Kona mountain bike had been stolen and has now been reunited with it.

However, owners are yet to be found for the four other bikes.

They are a black Sibot BMX, a green Apollo Guru, a silver Shockwave Susi 550, and a blue Apollo Excel mountain bike.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: ‘Anyone who has recently had a cycle stolen, in particular any of those we have described, should let us know via 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 0143 of 15 August, along with any identifying marks or serial numbers.’

The four arrested, all from Chichester, have been released on bail to report back to Chichester station later this month, pending further inquiries.
