A PROLIFIC thief who stole a £2 ready meal despite having a food voucher in his pocket has been jailed for 42 days.

Terence Miller stole the pre-cooked pasta dinner for one from a Co-op store in Fareham.

The court heard the 28-year-old already had 93 previous convictions for theft at the time.

His latest offence, which happened on May 24, was also the sixth time he has been caught stealing this year.

The magistrates said the offence was made worse by the fact that Miller had a food voucher in his pocket but decided to steal the meal anyway.

Miller, of Gibraltar Close, Fareham, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
