Public order offence lands man in jail for 33 days

A MAN has been jailed for a public order offence.

Samuel Timms made a serious threat and frightened his victim in the May 14 incident in Wisborough Road, Southsea.

Portsmouth magistrates jailed the homeless 37-year-old for 28 days after he was found guilty of causing harassment, alarm or distress.

Timms admitted failing to surrender to custody on June 30 and was sentenced to five days extra in jail.

In total his sentence was 33 days with a £115 victim surcharge to pay.
