Reality TV star Lady Colin Campbell has been found guilty of causing a three-car pile-up on the A27 after pulling out into traffic on a dual carriageway.

Prosecutors said Campbell, 67, made ‘an error of judgment’ by carrying out an unsafe manoeuvre in her Audi A6 estate on the route near Worthing on May 6 last year.

Brighton Magistrates’ Court heard, as Campbell pulled out, an Audi A3 hit her car before the A3 was then ‘catapulted’ into a Ford Focus travelling in the opposite eastbound direction.

Magistrates convicted Campbell of driving without due care and attention following a one-day trial.

Chair of the bench Michael Sandeman said the prosecution had proved Campbell’s driving ‘fell below the standard’.
